The latest Daft.ie Sales Report shows the average price of a home nationwide was €287,704 in the third quarter of the year.

The cost of a house is rising faster outside the main cities, with the largest annual hikes in Mayo and Leitrim, which saw prices up over 20 per cent.

Price rises in Kildare were also recorded in a second study out today, by Real Estate Alliance.
The price of the average second-hand three-bed semi in the county rose by 3.4% to €307,500 over the past three months
Across Kildare, the average time taken to sell rose from two weeks to three, the Q3 REA Average House Price Index shows.
The average price in Maynooth rose 3.1% to €335,000 this quarter, with average Celbridge prices rising 1.6% to €325,000.
Naas prices increased by 5.1% during this period to €310,000, and prices in Newbridge rose 4% to €260,000.
