Residents at Ferns Bridge in Monasterevin were left fuming today after a planned outage was put in place this morning - on one of the coldest days in the country.
It comes as an ESB spokesperson said any planned outages across the county will still go ahead.
A spokesperson said: "The majority of planned essential work during daytime hours (9am to 4pm) is proceeding as scheduled. We appreciate the disruption planned outages cause to impacted customers, and our crews will endeavour to complete works earlier than 4pm."
Earlier, Kfm hghlighted how some locals have been forced to reach out to relatives in the capital, while Monasterevin Community Centre has opened its doors to locals in need of facilities.
Customers impacted by outages in West Limerick, North Cork, and South Tipperary will have access to warm facilities, hotel restaurants and power supplies.
They will not have access to accommodation or washing facilities.
Local resident Stephanie told Kfm that she had to leave her home today because she could not risk staying in a "freezing" house with a four-month-old baby.
Tonight is set to be the coldest of the week.
Temperatures have barely risen above freezing in most parts today, with widespread icy conditions.
