Kildare Sees Six Babies Born With Alcohol Or Drugs In Their System Since 2014

The only year where children were exposed to the substances since 2014 in the county was in 2016, with 6 children born with the substances identified in their system.

Six babies were exposed to alcohol or drugs in the womb in Kildare in the past 9 years.

In Wicklow, the figure was 15 over the nine year period.

No babies were identified in Meath during the nine years.

Figures released by the HSE to Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín show that since 2014, Dublin had the highest amount of babies exposed to drugs and alcohol in the womb.
