The National Transport Authority has announced a significant allocation of funds to Kildare County Council for several active travel projects as part of its 2024 budget.

Among the key allocations are:
- Maynooth North-South Corridor: €1,500,000 has been earmarked for this project.
- Royal Canal Greenway (Maynooth - FCC Boundary): An allocation of €2,750,000 has been made to facilitate this greenway development.
- Green Lane Active Travel Scheme, Leixlip: This project has received €1,200,000 in funding.
- Naas to Sallins Greenway: €225,000 has been allocated to this initiative.
- Kilcullen Road Active Travel Scheme, Naas: The largest allocation of €2,700,000 has been assigned to this project.
- Active Travel Office - Staff Costs: €600,000 has been designated to cover staff costs for active travel initiatives.
- SRTS Round 1 - St. Brigid's Primary School, Kildare Town: This project has been allocated €200,000.
Other allocations include funding for active travel schemes, school travel initiatives, and enhancements to bus stops across various locations in the county.
