Kildare South based Senator, Fiona O’Loughlin commented: “It has been over a decade since any changes have been made to the income eligibility thresholds.
"This is a significant change which is being taken pending the development and roll-out of a revised income eligibility model in 2023., which is being worked on currently.
“I deal with people every day who are seeking access to housing supports, many of whom will now be able to avail of such supports when this change comes into effect.
“Supply remains an issue in terms of housing in south Kildare and I will continue to advocate for increased housing supply and community facilities in Kildare," she added.
