One of these men has since been arrested, but Gardaí are seeking the public’s help to trace the other suspect.
Gardaí in Clane are investigating two armed robberies that took place within 24 hours in north County Kildare, which they believe are connected.
One man has been arrested in relation to the incidents, but Gardai are appealing for public assistance to identify an accomplice.
The most recent robbery occurred on Saturday, 9 August 2025, at approximately 9:35pm at Londis, Main Street, Prosperous.
Speaking to Kfm, Garda Marc Connolly said a man entered the shop armed with a knife and demanded cash from the till.
He fled the scene in an 11D Volkswagen Passat with a small sum of money.
The suspect is described as having dark skin, approximately 5ft 8in in height, and wearing a blue scarf covering his face up to the nose, a black hoodie, and grey tracksuit trousers.
Gardaí believe the incident is linked to another armed robbery the day before, on Friday, 8 August 2025, at McCabe’s Gala, Kilmeague.
At around 7:35pm, two men entered the store and approached separate tills, each armed with a knife.
They threatened staff and made off with cash and a quantity of scratch cards.
The suspects in the Kilmeague incident are described as being in their 40s or 50s, speaking with Dublin accents, and carrying reusable style shopping bags.
One man was wearing black runners, knee-length shorts, a grey sweater, a dark body warmer, a blue t-shirt, a woolly hat, and glasses.
The second was dressed in white runners, grey tracksuit trousers, and a dark hooded jacket.
One of these men has since been arrested, but Gardaí are seeking the public’s help to trace the other suspect.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact Clane Garda Station, any Garda station, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
