According to the Child Care Law Reporting Project
A lack of placements, mental health concerns, unaccompanied minors and parental neglect mark the latest volume of reports published by the Child Law Project today.
These are cases where the State sought orders to take children into or keep them in care.
The Child Care Law Reporting Project was founded in 2012 and examines and reports on judicial child care proceedings.
It provides information to the public on the operation of the child care system in the courts with the aim of promoting transparency and accountability.
CEO, Child Care Law Reporting Project Maria Corbett: "We covered six of the thirty cases have been cases where children fled troubled places and arrived in Ireland seeking asylum.
"They're very happy with the care they received in general.
"But they tend to be very worried about the political stability in their own countries and their families," she said.
In one case a girl was deeply traumatised because of childhood neglect and domestic abuse.
She had also seen her mother attempt to commit suicide
"She was deemed not bad enough to be eligible to go on a waiting list," she explained
"How bad do things need to get to get services?" she questioned.
