Leixlip Youth and Community Centre is facing the prospect of closure.
It was established in 1989, and it constructed its own centre in the mid-2000s, beside the town's library.
It provides a home for youth and dance clubs, and space for community groups and small firms to hold events.
However, it needs more trustees to sit on the board to ensure good governance.
Fine Gael Cllr., Joe Neville, sits on the board and has been speaking to Kildare Today.
He says the outgoing chair, Liam McGrath, raised the problem at the AGM.
