A new 2 storey stand is among the works planned.
The life time of planning permission of up-grades at Naas Racecourse has been extended.
Naas Racecourse PLC already had leave for the demolition of several structures, including a small stand and a self-service restaurant.
In its place, the firm intends to construction a 624sqm two storey pavilion bar and restaurant and conversion of the remaining section of the original self-service restaurant in to an office and childcare centre.
The permission was close to lapsing, and KCC has extended it, on application.
The development description is:
"Extension of Duration of Planning Ref. No. 16/217 - sought for demolition of: (1) The existing small stand; (2) The binocular hire kiosk; (3) The part-demolition of the self-service restaurant, and for (4) The removal of the existing steel roof over the north stand. Permission is also sought for new works which comprise the construction of: (5) A new 624sqm two storey pavilion bar and restaurant with a 532sqm raised viewing terrace; (6) The change of use and renovation of the remaining 327sqm of the self-service restaurant for use as offices and drop-in childcare centre; (7) The erection of a new light-weight roof structure over the north stand; (8) The installation of 450sqm of solar panels on the stable roofs; (9) The construction of a new set-down area for the childcare centre; (10) The installation of an emergency back-up generator; (11) General landscape improvement works, and (12) All necessary site works associated with the above proposals Tipper Road,Naas,Co. Kildare"
