Scoring a total of 578 out of 800, Athy fended off stiff competition...

A local musician has penned a song for Athy after it was voted the most romantic town in Ireland.

Joseph Gorman, who’s from Ballindrum, between Narraghmore and Athy, wrote the song last night.

Scoring a total of 578 out of 800, Athy fended off stiff competition..

Coming in second place is Newbridge, followed by Ennis in Clare in third and fourth-placed Carrick-on-Suir in Tipperary.
