Social Democrats Cllr. Pat Balfe made the call in a statement issued to Kfm
Social Democrats Cllr. Pat Balfe has called for an immediate upgrade to Monasterevin fire station.
The call comes after €4.4 million was allocated for a new fire station in Maynooth and while Cllr. Balfe says this is an important development, he highlighted that the community in Monasterevin has been calling for an upgrade of its fire station for a long time.
Official documents indicate that Monasterevin’s upgrade is scheduled as a priority infrastructural project for the Capital Plan for 2026–2030.
In a statement issued to Kfm, Cllr Balfe emphasised that the "existing processes, including assessments, detailed design, and cost planning, must translate into tangible improvements for local safety, not just aspirations on paper."
It is a matter of local safety and community confidence that we see action, not just promises.” he said.
