The store told the man his vouchers had expired even though they do not have an expiration date.
Retailers are being reminded that there is no expiry date on Re-turn vouchers.
That's after a local man, who did not want to be named, said a major retailer in Athy refused his vouchers, saying they are out of date by two months.
However, a spokesperson for Re-turn said, "vouchers issued from an RVM must be redeemed at the same retail outlet either in exchange for cash or to be used against purchases in that store. There is no time limit to when the vouchers must be used."
A spokesperson for the store that refused the vouchers said "their team is looking into this".
