Most of the opposition relates to the lack of social infrastructure, such as schools, to support new families moving to the area.

Local opposition is mounting to proposals for hundreds of new homes in Newbridge.

2 separate strategic housing development applications, with a combined 540, are proposed for Ballymany.

One, of 204 homes, is proposed for land between Maxol and Horse Racing Ireland's HQ.

The second, 336 is proposed for a site opposite Maxol and behind the Keadoin Hotel

Fianna Fáil Cllr., Rob Power, has been speaking to Kildare Today.
