A man in his 20s has been seriously injured in an alleged assault in Kildare town.
He was found unresponsive on McGee Terrace at around a quarter past 3 this morning.
The incident happened close to a Garda station.
The man has been brought to Naas General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
The scene is sealed off this evening for technical examination and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
