Incident happened on 15th May
A man will appear in court this morning, following the hijacking and theft of a car in Monasterevin earlier this month.
The incident happened just after 3pm, on Sunday 15th May, when a man forced his way into the vehicle and attacked a passenger before driving off.
The car was recovered and following a number of lines of enquiry, Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s yesterday.
The man was taken to Kildare Garda Station and charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court later this morning.
