A 22-year-old Cian Leavey, from Caragh is charged with assaulting 24-year-old Dawn Hamill at around midnight at St Conleth's car park in Newbridge, in the early hours of Wednesday the 4th of December.
Ms Hamill was found unresponsive that morning at around 8.15am.
Detective Garda Patrick Robbins told Naas District Court that Cian Leavey had been arrested on Friday 6th of December, but was later released to hospital.
The court heard that yesterday, after Mr Leavy was released from hospital, he presented himself to Kildare Garda Station by appointment at 7pm, where he made a "cautioned voluntary statement".
Cian Leavey will appear in court again in Naas District Court via video link from Cloverhill Prison on 19 December.
