34 year old Brian Thackaberry of Church Hill, Dunlavin is to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
A 34-year-old man has been remanded in custody after 340-thousand euro worth of cannabis was seized at Dublin Airport on Friday. (July 21st)
Brian Thackaberry of Church Hill, Dunlavin, has been charged with possessing the cannabis, having it with intent to supply, and unlawful importation of the drug.
Dublin District Court heard today there was a deliberate attempt to conceal around 17 kilos of suspected cannabis, and the defendant's name tag was attached to the luggage.
Garda Marie Ruddy told the court the accused made no reply to the charge, and feared he had connections outside the jurisdiction because he had flown in from Los Angeles.
Judge Brendan Toale refused a bail request and remanded Mr. Thackaberry, who has yet to indicate a plea, in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
