A man remains in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in Dublin yesterday afternoon.
34-year-old Keith Conlon - a father of young children - was shot in the head in Tallaght yesterday afternoon.
A man in his 50s remains in Garda custody, and gardai are following a definite line of inquiry.
The victim was walking is dog in the Hazel Grove area at lunchtime on Tuesday, in the Lugmore area at around 1pm when the incident occurred.
It's believed the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was brought to Tallaght hospital
It's reported the man suffered serious head injuries during the shooting incident.
The incident happened in a rural locality on the Blessington Road area.
A large number of gardai and paramedics attended the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
