A man's in stable condition in hospital after an alleged assault in Edenderry
An arrest has been made following the attack on Francis Street.
Cliona O'Dwyer reports:
"The man in his 30s was allegedly attacked on Francis Street in Edenderry shortly after a quarter past 6 yesterday evening.
He was found with serious head injuries.
He was taken by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore where his condition is described as stable.
The scene has been sealed off for forensic examination.
A man in his 20s has been arrested and was brought to Tullamore Garda Station where he's being questioned.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them. "
