Based on figures from 10.30am, Monasterevin has the highest voter turnout at 5%.
It is followed by Athy at 3% and Newbridge at 2.6%.
Kildare Town has the lowest voter turnout so far, coming in at 2%.
People have three choices on the ballot paper - Independent Catherine Connolly, Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys and Fianna Fáil's Jim Gavin.
Everyone must bring ID to be able to vote, however polling cards are not required.
