A row over shop front signage in Naas has flared up, with one local councillor warning that neon lights and other shop fronts are making the historic area look like a "slum".
Independent Cllr Bill Clear said some of the businesses in Naas Town have planning conditions in place advising them on signage protocol but, he says, the advice is being ignored.
He has called into some of the stores to complain, with one shop owner telling him that they would consider changing their signage.
Cllr Clear said a lot of people have contacted him about the signage.
He said he is "really, really angry" about the issue and that some of the signs are "running the area down".
