Motorist now facing a court appearance.
A driver has been arrested in Kildare after being caught driving nearly 80 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.
The motorist was caught by Gardaí in Naas going 178 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometre zone.
The driver was taken into custody with proceedings to follow.
