Kildare County Council has opened a new transitional housing service for women experiencing homelessness, or at risk of it.
Osberstown Cottage, near Naas, will provide short-term accommodation for up to five women at a time.
It’s designed to help residents move from emergency settings towards secure, permanent homes.

The facility is operated by Dublin Simon Community on behalf of the Council.
Each resident will have an individual support plan and a dedicated key worker.
The service is expected to accommodate around ten women a year, with typical stays of about six months.
