Free GP care is available to all children under six
Additional resources are needed in GP practices before expanding free GP care to an extra 500,000 people.
At the moment, free GP care is available to all children under six and people aged 70 or over.
It's also available to people on Carer’s Allowance or Carer’s Benefit and those below a certain income level.
Dr Brendan O’ Shea is a GP in Newbridge - he says recruitment and retention of doctors and nurses is crucial.
