He was clinically dead for four minutes.
A newbridge man who had a cardiac arrest at the age of 52 has advised locals to have regular check-ups.
Paul Nolan, a member of the Newbridge Athletic Club, was put into an induced coma last year after falling ill while out training.
He said he was clinically dead for four minutes.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Paul said he's lucky that locals stepped in quickly and that there was a defibrillator nearby.
