Over 500 patients are on trolleys across the country's hospital system.
Nine people are on trolleys in Naas General Hospital this morning, according to today's INMO Trolley watch figures.
This figure is down three on yesterday's figure.
Some 526 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, this figure is down from 608 patients yesterday, which was the highest number since records began.
University Hospital Limerick continues to have the highest number of patients on trolleys, with 77 waiting for a bed this morning.
Yesterday, Naas resident, INMO General Secretary, Phil Ní Sheaghdha commented: “Every passing day that we allow trolley numbers to continue to rise in summer is an acceptance that chronic overcrowding, sicker patients and burnout nurses and other healthcare workers are going to be the key features of our health service this winter."
The INMO has called on the Emergency Taskforce to convene immediately to tackle the rising trolley numbers before the winter months.
