Maynooth University will host Nobel Prize-winning astronomer Professor Brian Schmidt for the 2025 Faculty of Science and Engineering Dean’s Lecture on Monday, April 14, at 6:30 PM in the TSI Building, North Campus.
Professor Schmidt, known for his groundbreaking work on supernovae and the accelerating expansion of the universe, will present a talk titled "The Universe from Beginning to End." He will explore how astronomers have pieced together the history of the cosmos—from the Big Bang to the present—while also discussing unanswered mysteries like dark energy and black holes.
