Free contraception will be available to some women from August.
The government announced last week that free contraception for women aged 17 to 25 will be available from next August.
The provision, which was a part of budget 2022, is the start of a phased introduction of the service to all women.
We need to ensure that women have access to the full range of contraception, including LARCs that are more effective, but have a high upfront cost. Women must be able to have access to and make an informed choice as to what type of contraception is best for them.

While it is a welcome introduction, some groups have expressed issues with the ambitions of the proposal.
