Oireachtas Cttee. To Debate Whether Dying With Dignity Bill Is Legal Today.

Kildare TD, James Lawless, is chair of the committee.

The Oireachtas Justice Committee will debate whether the proposed Dying with Dignity Bill is legal at a meeting this afternoon.

The committee has been given legal advice which questions the constitutionality of the bill.

If passed it would allow for assisted suicide for people with a terminal illness.
