13,000 employers and employees supported by the wage subsidy scheme.

Some 1,710 employers and businesses in Kildare have availed of Covid-19 financial supports, according to Fine Gael Minister Martin Heydon TD.

Minister Heydon commented: “New data provided to me by the Department of Finance shows 13,005 employers and employees are currently being supported by the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS) in County Kildare.

12,055 employees and 950 businesses in County Kildare have been supported by EWSS.

This number is based on payslips filed with Revenue by employers for November 2021, the most recent month for which complete data exists,” he said.

Minister Heydon said 705 businesses are also being supported by the COVID Restrictions Support Scheme (CRSS) in the county since the scheme was introduced.

CRSS support is available to eligible businesses whose activity has been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

The Business Resumption Support Scheme (BRSS) is for businesses with reduced turnover because of public health restrictions.

Registration for BRSS opened on 6 September 2021 and the closing date for applications was 30 November 2021," he said.

As of 9 December 2021, 55 amount of County Kildare businesses received support through the scheme since its inception.

The end-date of the CRSS was also extended to 31 January 2022 to align with the requirement for nightclubs and discos to close until 9 January 2022 under the Health Regulations,” he added.
