The funding has been allocated to two sites in the county
Over €100,000 is to be awarded to two Kildare projects, as part of the 2026 Community Monuments Fund.
The announcement was made by Minister for Housing, James Browne, and Minister of State for Nature, Christopher O'Sullivan.
A total of €129,212.50 is to be given to Kildare, under Stream 1 and Stream 2.
Stream 1 will see €100,000 go towards Laraghbryan Church, which aims to bring essential repairs and capital works for the conservation and repair to the site.
The remaining €29,212.50, seen in Stream 2, will go to Carbury Castle.
Stream 2 leads to the development of Conservation Management Plans/Reports that are aimed at identifying measures for conservation of archaeological monuments and improving public access.
The Community Monuments Fund was first established in July 2020, with an allocation of €1.4m for expenditure on improvements to archaeological monuments.
