Dept. of Housing says the cost arose over 11 years.
€2,119,385 was spent serving unsold affordable homes Kildare in the 11 years to 2020.
The cost arises through servicing loans on these properties.
The Dept. of Housing says that, at the end of last year, there were 67 such homes across the county, and 2,039 in the country.
Minister, Darragh O'Brien says these homes " are available for social housing tenants.".
