Irish Water is conduction works in the town centre.
Parts of Athy may experience water supply disruption overnight.
Kildare County Council says Irish Water is conducting leak repairs on Offaly Street.
The project begins this evening at 7pm.
It is not scheduled for completion until 6am on Friday morning, and it could take up to three hours, after that, for the system to refill and for normal supply to resume.
KCC says a "Stop/Go traffic control will be in place and short delays can be expected."
