The road remains closed.
A man in his 40s has died following a collision on the R445 Monasterevin Road outside Kildare Town.
The incident, involving a car and a pedestrian, happened at approximately 6pm this evening on the R445.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene where his body still remains.
The road is currently closed between Monesterevin and Kildare town with local diversions in place.
Garda are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
