A positive update has been issued for a new bus service for Suncroft.
There had been previous commitments that it would already be in place by now.
But Labour and Kildare South TD Mark Wall has received a commitment that it will be up and running by the end of the year.
It follows consultations with the Minister for Tranport, NTA and Local Link.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Deputy Wall said that it is a "priority" for him and local people:
"The latest commitment I have is that it will definitely be up and running by the end of the year, and hopefully in the next couple of months.
"It's a priority for me and the people of Suncroft. It has to happen for Suncroft."
He added that the tenders have been "received and are ready to go".
Deputy Wall assured that he would get an update to confirm when the Dáil returns.
