Craddockstown Road is set to be trialled as a 'Quiet Road' this year.
The trial will aim to reduce speed and promote future 'Amenity Walking' in Naas's east and southeast quadrant.
Under the proposal, access to this area would be redirected from Ballymore and Blessington Roads, while Craddockstown Road would maintain its historical significance as a route to the Punchestown Racing Festival and for the development of 'Walking Sunday Festival Events'.
The proposal follows similar initiatives in other areas.
Parks are currently implementing a comparable scheme in Old Kilcullen, while the Public Realm has recently opened a shared road along the Grand Canal at Ardclough to Ponsonby bridges, as part of the Grand Canal Greenway project.
