OFS has received an investment of €70m from a prviate equity firm named Exponent.
The Naas-based company is a provider of specialist technical services to power-generation companies and data centres.
According to the Irish Independent, the intention is to double the company’s workforce from the current level of 200.
Headquartered in Naas, and with offices in America and Singapore, OFS was founded in 2002 as a specialist engineering-services provider.
It's founders Eric Kavanagh and Joseph Dunne will continue as managers after the investment.
OFS specialises in gas turbines, offshore rotating equipment and other energy infrastructure for data centres. It has a global team of engineers and technicians who install, commission, maintain and operate the equipment.
The company says it supports customers in more than 40 countries, and these include Mitsubishi Power, Solar Turbines, Siemens, GE Power and Vantage.
The role of gas turbines in supporting the electric grid is becoming increasingly important as they become a preferred “behind the meter” power source for data centres, which are finding themselves restricted by grid capacity and connection delays.
