Public Consultation Opens For Sallins Amenity Lands

File image: Rolling News

Deadline is the 14th March

Sallins could now be considered a town rather than a village, according to Councillor Carmel Kelly.

"Sallins is seriously lacking in amenities, and it's something that is long overdue," she said.

A public consultation takes place on the Sallins Amenity Lands in Osberstown and it opens this Friday the 28th January.

The public must make a submission before 14th March.

"James Lawless and I will be in Cafe Grange on Saturday 12th March to consult with any members of the public.

"Submissions can be made online, but I know that many people don't like to do things online.

"We'll be in the cafe for anyone who needs help or wishes to attend," she said.

Cllr. Kelly has also said the bollards in Sallins are not working well at the moment.

Cllr Carmel Kelly says that the bollards have been installed as a traffic calming measure but she says they have been hit a number of times.

"We have to wait until all the traffic calming measure plans are in, the cycle lanes and the walking lanes," she said.

"Things should settle down once the public get used to it, "she added.

Cllr. Carmel Kelly spoke with Eoin Beatty on Tuesday morning's Kildare Today:
