The reassurance addresses concerns from various Tidy Towns groups across the country that election posters might negatively impact their scores.

Local and European elections are scheduled for June 7th, coinciding with the judging period for this year's competition.

However, in an email to Newbridge Tidy Towns, a spokesperson for the Department of Rural and Community Development stated that points are not expected to be deducted due to election posters.

Evonne Boland, Chairperson of Newbridge Tidy Towns, said some groups are concerned about cable ties being left on poles after the posters are removed.

However, she stressed that the reassurance regarding adjudication applies only to election posters during the election period and the week following it.
