Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) have referred a report into the alleged cheating in electrical apprenticeships to gardaí, according to the Irish Independent.
Chief Executive of QQI, Dr Lynn Ramsey, wrote to Further and Higher Education Minister and Kildare North Fianna Fail TD James Lawless to confirm the report was lodged to gardaí.
The disclosure claimed exam papers were being sold to apprentice electricians for €50 on the eve of assessments.
He rejected claims by Connect Trade Union that concerns over exam paper leaks in the craft electrical apprenticeship system were “left to fester”.
