A self-proclaimed medium and registered wedding solemniser from Celbridge who claims to be able to communicate with the dead has pleaded guilty to a company law offence.
According to the Irish Independent, 49-year-old Tom Colton, a former rugby referee and accountant, ran a spiritual wedding ceremonies business while disqualified from acting as a company director.
Mr Colton will be sentenced next year following his plea today at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The charge said that he acted as a director and secretary of Grá Agus Solas Unlimited Company, and was directly concerned in the formation and management, despite being prohibited from doing so.
The offence carries a potential penalty of a fine up to €50,000 or up to five years imprisonment, or both.
The matter has been adjourned for sentencing until next April.
