Shoppers Reminded To Have Guard Up As Fake ‘Kildare’ Pages Push Black Friday Scams

Meanwhile, an increasing number of people are using platforms like TikTok shop to buy products and gifts.

Shoppers are being urged to keep their guards up when it comes to online purchasing.

With Black Friday and Christmas around the corner, Revenue says bargains from outside the EU could come with hidden costs, from surprise VAT and customs charges to counterfeit goods which never deliver.

Locals have also been duped through pages purporting to be based in Kildare.

In one of post seen by Kfm News, a shop called Walsh Kildare, claiming to be based in Kildare Town, shows a smashed shop window with a Garda car outside.

It offers a fake 80% off sale but is completely fake.

Meanwhile, an increasing number of people are using platforms like TikTok shop to buy products and gifts.
