Significant Drop In The Number Of Kildare People Engaged With Tús.

This is a "targeted activation measure" for people who've been seeking employment for more than a year.

The pandemic has contributed to a 70% reduction in the number of people in Kildare referred to Tús schemes.

The Dept. of Social Protection describes Tús as a "targeted activation measure specifically designed and delivered to jobseekers who are on the live register and have been unemployed" for a year or more.

48 local centres, nationwide, set up community work placements for eligible job-seekers, in community or voluntary organisations

In 2019, 205 Kildare people were referred to the scheme.

That dropped to 83 people last year.

To date, this year, 61 Kildare people have engaged in the programme.
