She will attend events at Hope(D) Counselling Service in Newbridge, McAuley Place Residential Community and Enable Ireland in Naas.
Deputy McDonald will be accompanied by Kildare South party TD, Patricia Ryan, North Kildare Sinn Féin Deputy, Réada Cronin, and Kildare Newbridge MD Cllr., Noel Connolly
Deputy McDonald says “The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult. Organisations such as Hope(D), McAuley Place and Enable Ireland in Kildare have really stepped up to the plate to ensure that people are supported.
“Long before Covid, we had a mental health crisis in Ireland. We know that we will face even greater challenges from the impact of the pandemic. Government must ensure that appropriate mental health strategies are put in place. Part of this must be increasing access to community level counselling such as the services provided by Hope(D).
“The well-being of those living with disabilities and older people must be at the heart of the Ireland we build after Covid.
