Speeding Drivers Could Be Given A Second Chance With Course Option Instead Of Penalty Points

It would give drivers a chance to take the classroom-style course but repeat offenders would not be given a second opportunity.

Local drivers caught speeding could soon be offered one chance to go to a course instead of receiving penalty points.

The Road Safety Authority said it would be similar to the system in the UK.

Shane O'Donoghue, Editor of Completecar.ie, says it's a welcome move to address speed, but wider behaviour issues exist.
