Storm Agnes To Hit Kildare On Wednesday Morning

Weather warnings for Storm Agnes have been upgraded for Cork and Kerry.

Storm Agnes will hit Kildare on Wednesday morning, it's the first named storm of the winter.

A status orange rain warning will be in place for Cork and Kerry from 9am tomorrow with heavy, intense rain possible..

Elsewhere, Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wicklow and Waterford will have a status yellow rain alert from early tomorrow morning.

While, there will be a status yellow wind warning for Leinster and Munster throughout tomorrow.

The Met Office in Britain has also issued a status yellow wind warning for the north from midday tomorrow.

Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel says it's not unusual for storm activity at this time of the year:
