TD: Newbridge Bridge Project Has Greater Chance Of Funding If Design Progressed.

Scheme failed to win URDF funding earlier this year.

Advancing design work on the second Liffey bridge in Newbridge could boost chances of securing funding.

The project failed to win funding under the Urban Regeneration Development Fund earlier this year.

KCC applications for funding for projects in Celbridge, Maynooth and Naas won a combined €15 million.

Kildare South Fine Gael TD, and Minister of State, Martin Heydon has been speaking to Kildare Today.

He says, at the time of application, the Newbridge project was not shovel-ready.
