Kildare's Seán O'Fearghail has issued a warning
The Ceann Comhairle has warned TDs and Senators over their use of recordings and images of Oireacthas debates.
Kildare South TD, Seán O'Fearghail, has written to members, saying that Oireachtas footage should not be used in party political broadcasts or campaign videos
Independent.ie reports that TDs and parties across the political spectrum have breached Oireachtas rules on the use of footage from Dáil and Seanad debates.

The Kildare TD added proceedings “should not be used in a manner that may mislead as to the context, timing or intent of the contribution being shown”.
“Broadcast footage should not be edited with visual or audio effects in any way, re-sized, or have graphics superimposed over it – including party logos.
“The Houses of the Oireachtas logo in the top left-hand corner of the screen should not be obscured or cut out,” he added.
He said the Oireachtas broadcasting unit “vigorously maintain these standards” with all broadcast partners, online media and social media producers.
He said if members continued to misuse this content it will undermine the Oireachtas’ open data policy and their promotion of Dáil and Seanad proceedings.
