The proposal is being put forward by Fianna Fáil Cllr., Suzanne Doyle.
Its with respect to a portion of Bride Street, Kildare Town, as it feeds in to Market Square.
The councillor says this should take palce during weekends and evenings (off peak), to
support a safe successful outdoor public realm plaza".
In her motion, to be debated at the May meeting of the Kildare Newbridge Municipal District, Cllr. Doyle says the measure, if implemented, should be "reviewed within year to assess its impact"
Her party colleague, Brian Dooley, put forward a motion similar in tone at the May Athy MD meeting, seeking a pilot pedestrianisation project to Emily Square
