Its in light of rising construction costs.
Kildare County Council is being asked to review its Housing Adaptation Grant scheme.
This collection of grants is designed to enable older people, and people with disabilities, to modify their homes in accordance with their needs.
Two thirds of the funding is allocated by the Dept. of Housing, on an annual basis.
KCC must contribute a third.
Fianna Fáil Cllr., Suzanne Doyle, has called for a review of grant caps, in light of rising building costs.
A report by project managers firm, Turner and Townsend, published late last month, showed, according to the Irish Times, increases of between 7% and 34% for reinforcing bars, structural steel, aluminium curtain walling/panelling and copper all showed sharp increases in the first half of this year.
The motion will be debated at the September meeting of the Kildare/Newbridge MD.
